Recycling and Reusing Tips

With Earth Day coming up I have seen lots of places to recycle almost everything! It's good for the environment, your house (less clutter), and sometimes your wallet.

Make Up Items
-EcoTools - Send off your old makeup brushes, sponges, and bath and body care products to EcoTools for an alternative EcoTool product (free item coupon) and a sample pack. Go here for more information!

-Origins- Take your empty cosmetic tubes, bottles, or jars to Origins store or counter April 22 for a free full size cleanser...choose from Checks and Balances or Perfect World. This has been posted on their facebook page. Thanks Drugstore Divas!

Electronics
-Target- Trade in used electronics and DVDs for a Target Gift Card! Love this!!
-Swagbucks- Recycle old cell phones for swagbucks! Not a member? Join here!

Shoes
Nike- Drop off shoes at Nike to have every part used to make athletic surfaces. I think I like this on the best! They take any brand shoes!
List of other places to send shoes for charity and to be reused or recycled.

Plastic Bags
Reuse- If you have not gotten a reusable bag yet or forgot yours, be sure to reuse plastic bags in creative or more ordinary ways or
Recycle- Target has set out recycle bins for plastic bags in or near their stores.

Paper
Reuse - I use the backside of office paper or flyers I am no longer using to print out coupons. I also give them to my kids to doodle on or cut them up and use them on scrap paper to jot down notes.
Recycle- Paper Retriever is a great way to recycle your office papers, magazines, and newspapers. Plus, your schools or community organizations will get money for the items being recycled.

Sports Equipment
Donate to a local school! Teachers are always in search of play equipment especially this late in the year :)

Various Items
Recycle - Terracycle is a great way for you to donate used drink pouches, oral care, home storage, lunch kits, and beauty items. Your organization receives money for the items donated. The recycled items are then turned into products that are sold, such as tote bags.

Free Halle Berry Perfume at CVS

This week at CVS when you buy Halle Berry perfume you will get $5 in Extra Care Bucks. There is a 0.17oz. size that is priced at $4.99 and it has been giving the $5 ECB making it FREE!!!

I haven't been yet this week to look for these, but others are finding it hanging on the end of the perfume aisle or hanging near the cosmetics. It should be the size of a lipstick tube. You may have to do a little digging but this is a great FREE item for your purse!

I would definitely use the price scanner to make sure that you find the right item!

EcoTools Look Gorgeous, Love Green Recycling Makeup Tools

If you own a bunch of old make-brushes, sponges, etc. now is the time to do something with them! You can send them off to EcoTools for their Look Gorgeous, Love Green Campaign.

EcoTools will collect used cosmetic brushes and bath + body care products and swap them for an EcoTools alternative AND a sample pack. Examples of items to swap include:

* makeup brushes
* body washes and scrubs
* body lotions/butters
* hand creams
* body mists
* bath sponges

For each item turned in, participants will receive a coupon for a FREE EcoTools alternative (up to $7.99 value; limit 2 coupons per person). The EcoTools coupon(s) will be sent to participants within a month of receiving the swapped product(s). The items collected will be recycled.
