‘CARTER’S CUTIES’ PHOTO CONTEST SEARCHES FOR THE 12 CUTEST KIDS

Calling all cuties! Carter’s is launching a nationwide search for the cutest kids in America. Beginning October 14th, parents are invited to submit a photo of their child (up to age 6) to the Carter’s Cuties Contest at www.carters.com/cuties. Six winners will receive a year’s supply of Carter’s for their cutie– a $1,500 value -- and six runners-up will receive $500 worth of Carter's!

There will be one boy and one girl grand prize winner and runner-up in each of three categories: Baby (Newborn-24 months), Toddler (2-4 years old) and Kid (5-6 years old). Judging will be completed in two phases: first a panel of judges will select 10 Finalists in each of the six categories; then, the Finalist photos will be posted on the contest Website for public voting.

Pokoyo DVD Review

 Pocoyo is so much fun!  I received the Meet Pocoyo DVD and my one year old absolutely loves it!  We have watched it at least 25 times already!  The pink elephant, dog, bird and duck are great characters!  My 4 year old enjoyed the instruments.  They are both giggling while watching it now!

The Meet Pocoyo DVD can be played in English or Spanish and is 47 minutes long and split up into 7 stories. 

My daughter enjoyed it a bit too-she is a little older but still found it entertaining and liked watching her brothers be silly while watching it.

Letter to Santa-Send in Before November 28th

The last thing I am thinking about is Christmas right now but, my daughter asked to write a letter to Santa last week! How could I tell her no?  So now I have a letter to Santa and was looking for somewhere to send it!  I stumbled upon this site Father Christmas Letters. 

There is a fee for the return letter but they will send your child a personalized letter.  Your letter needs to be sent before November 28th, fortunately my little one was really thinking ahead so I can plan ahead too!

What do you do with all of your Halloween candy?

Operation Gratitude is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization that seeks to lift the morale of service-members by sending care packages.

Set up a table or box where leftover candy can be donated. It can then be sent to Operation Gratitude, which will include it in care packages.

Review of Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway

I had the pleasure of attending Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway on October 22nd, 2010 at 7:30.  First of all it was a great night downtown-lots of people and a little rainy-the perfect night to really be part of our bustling city!

The concert started out with a little talk about the Milwaukee Theatre and it's history.  The Milwaukee Theatre is 100 years old!  Neil Berg himself was there and played the piano-wow, what energy!
The program changed a little and included music from:

Chicago

Jekyll and Hyde

Phantom  of the Opera

Man of La Mancha

My Fair Lady

Grumpy Old Men

Rent

and a couple others

5 Broadway Stars entertained us by performing songs from the excellent Broadway shows named above.  Carter Calvert, Rob Evan, Sandra Joseph, Robert DuSold and Ted Louis Levy were entertaining to watch.  I especially enjoyed the tap dancing styling of Ted Louis Levy.

We had so much fun-as an extra bonus we received a commemorative Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway key chain!
