sHanes is launching a Sock Drive benefitting The Salvation Army. Beginning yesterday, December 1, for every Hanes Facebook fan who clicks “Help Hanes Donate,” Hanes will donate an actual pair of socks towards its goal of 500,000 pairs (or 1 million individual socks).

Hanes held its first sock drive last year after learning that socks are the number one more requested items in homeless shelters. This year, Hanes has increased its goal from 100,000 pairs of socks to 500,000!

Wholly Guacamole Review

 I recently had the opportunity to try some of the Wholly Guacamole products.  I was able to sample some good ole Wholly Guacamole, some Wholly Guacamole Spicy, some Wholly Queso, some Wholly Salsa, and some Wholly Queso Blanco.  I think my favorite was the good ole Wholly Guacamole in the 100 Calorie Packs.  Don't get me wrong, they were all delicious, but I liked the idea of eating something so good that could be so good for you and only 100 calories!  My husband and kids downed the Wholly Queso in on sitting!  I couldn't have been more delighted to have gotten this all to sample.  Check out their site to see all the items they have added to their product line.  I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

Wish Bone Salad Dressing and Salad Keeper Review

We love fresh veggies-especially ones we have grown ourselves.  Unfortunately the summer is over and we can't have our fresh form the garden tomatoes and peppers.  We can still get great veggies from the grocery store.  At least once a week I stop and pick up a salad from the salad bar at my local Pick N Save-I like the variety of fresh greens and different veggies that I can choose.  I certainly can't enjoy my salad without  a great ranch salad dressing.

We had the opportunity to review the newly improved Wish-Bone Ranch dressing along with an awesome salad container that keeps your salad cool and your dressing in a separate compartment to avoid a soggy mess!  The oils like those in Wish-Bone help the body better absorb Vitamins A&E versus a salad without dressing. Also, a study commissioned by Wish-Bone showed that salad eaters consumed 40% more vegetables than those who did not regularly consume salads and sadly, one-third of Americans do not regularly eat salads.

We have been trying the Wish-Bone Ranch salad dressing and salad keeper.  The Wishbone dressing is delicious-we have been using it in salads and with cut veggies, Ann's kiddos love it with carrots and cucumbers!  Ann has sent the salad keeper with her daughter to school with cut veggies and dressing in the separate compartment.  The container was easy for her to use and she enjoyed the fresh veggies with the "dip".  I have been enjoying taking the salad keeper to work and having my fresh salad and separate dressing for lunch-my husband has been stealing it from me too! 

The Wish-Bone Ranch dressing is great, it is the perfect ranch dressing-ranch is pretty much the only dressing I use.  I also tried it with buffalo chicken strips, yummy!

Book Signing!!! Book Review: Say Hello, Lily Written by Deborah Lakritz Illustrated by Martha Aviles

Say Hello, Lily is a nice story to share with your family or a group of children.  Ann's kiddos loved the little girl Lily.  They have been asking Ann to go to a place where they can do art with "grandmas and grandpas". 

I have read the story to my kiddos at work a few times-we visit an assisted living home once a month and drop off a little decoration we have made on the residents doors.  The children are always a little apprehensive about going.  This book really opened some of their eyes that going to different places can be a scary thing but they can be fun too!

In the story Lily joins her mother at the Shalom House and is very nervous and shy when meeting new people.  They are very excited that she has come to visit though!  Lilly continues to join her mother and gradually comes out of her shell and really thrives and enjoys her time there!  She is very happy to see an old neighbor who now lives there-Mrs. Rosenbaum is excited to see Lily again and they form a special relationship.-I can't give you all the details-you will have to read it for yourself! :)

A very cute story-definitely worth picking up for your family.  Say Hello, Lily is also a learning tool-your children will pick up that it is okay to be scared at first but if you give it a try you will really have fun and maybe meet some new friends!

Blizzie Cup Review

So I am currently enjoying a Snapple Apple Blizzie!  Ann and I received this neat cup, reusable freezer cubes, spoon/straw and directions.  All you need to do is place the freezer cubes in the freezer for a couple of hours, when frozen place in the Blizzie Cup pour your favorite beverage in, screw top on and shake!  Make sure your finger is over the little hole.  YUM!  I made a Snapple Apple Blizzie and one of Ann's kiddos is a HUGE chocolate milk fan-it was like a little chocolate milk icee!  He loves it and he can do it himself!  

As I am sitting here typing this my Snapple Apple Blizzie is still an icee! It is delicious!
I want another one-I think it would be a fun party beverage maker-especially if kiddos are over.
