Bring along your BUZZY Taking the Sting out of Shots kit! The BUZZY has a really neat plastic bee that fits in your palm that you can turn on and it vibrates and buzzes! It is meant to distract your child while shots are being given. Originally it looks like a bee, but it comes with 21 stickers that can go on your buzzy to make it customizable! You can make it an astronaut or a bear...maybe even a rock star!
The BUZZY is curved so it lays on the skin that is getting the shot-it even comes with a small ice pack the will lay under it and looks like wings.
In the BUZZY there is a slotted area that you can put a card in (some come with the kit). These cards serve as distractions for your child while they are getting their shots! These cards are brightly colored and full of age appropriate questions and activities!
The BUZZY kit comes with band aids and some bee bravery stickers.
I used the Buzzy when I took my four year old son to his latest check up...the boy has high anxiety issues when it comes to shots! So, I was able to hold him and talk him through it all while looking at the distractor cards. He did great! The distractors did their job in easing his anxiety and anticipation, but he still let out a yelp with the initial poke. BUT...I am happy to say the Buzzy was a great distractor and kept his mind off of what was coming. This is going to be a staple at every appointment from here on out with each of my children.
I highly recommend this product if you have a child who is not a fan of those inevitable shots!
