I Guess You Can Learn Something New Everyday...

The other day I needed to get some loaves of bread for a product review.  While I was out running other errands, I stopped at Jimmy John's for a delicious sandwich.  On a whim I asked whether I could buy a whole loaf of bread, and it turns out that you can.

You have two options you can purchase a fresh loaf for $2 or you can buy a day old loaf for only 45 cents.  I picked up two day old loaves.

Each loaf is 15 inches long and they are frozen over night to keep them fresh.  Once defrosted, which only takes about 5 minutes, the ends that are not wrapped are slightly tough, but you can just cut that end off, you only end up losing about an inch of the loaf.  The remaining part of the loaf is still soft and very tasty.

I would suggest you keep this in mind next time you need a loaf of bread for something.

Does anybody know of any other restaurants that do something similar?

Most of the smaller sub shops in town do this. Jimmy Johns & Milio's I know for a fact do this with the day old bread. I think Cousins does also but I'm not sure of the price. I know there's another place just like Jimmy John's around town but for the life of me can't think of the name of it now.

Thank you! My husband and I are planning on trying other shops and we will certainly let everyone know which ones do this! :)
