Quick Dinner Ideas for a Busy Holiday Season - Using Gorton's Frozen Fish

Betsy and I had the chance to try some Gorton's frozen fish.  Instead of just making it and dipping it in some tartar sauce I used the Gorton's website to find some recipe ideas for making a more complete meal.

We had a box of 6 Garlic and Herb Crunchy Breaded Fish Fillets.

The recipe I found suggested using the prepared fish in a stir fry inspired meal.  You make the fish as directed on the box and then pair it with your favorite stir fried vegetables and some rice.  My vegetable mixture included, broccoli, carrots, green pepper, onion, sliced water chestnuts, peanuts, and some stir fry sauce.

After everything is ready, you just cut the fish up and serve it with the veggies and rice, we used brown rice.

The fish paired quite well the the other parts of the meal, adding a nice flavor complement to the other flavors as well as a crunchy texture from the breading.  In all this combination came together quite well.  The website offers recipes for the different products Gorton's offers, just pick the one you have and browse the recipes listed to find one that piques your interest.

If you are looking for a dinner idea and have some Gorton's in the freezer keep this in mind as an option to go beyond just a bland "fish and chips" dinner.
