Extreme Couponing in Milwaukee: Double Coupons

So, as you all know, we are huge Extreme Couponing fans! Okay, we might not be extreme couponers ourselves, but that doesn't mean that we can't be fans! We are lucky in Milwaukee to have many stores that offer double coupons. We have had many inquiries from our readers wanting to know about double coupons: Who offers them? How does it work? Any limitations? So, we wanted to put together a post for all of you filling you in on our research!

I want to fill you in on the way I do my shopping so that maybe it will give you a few pointers on great ways to save money! Since I worked at Sentry as a teen, I learned a lot of tricks of the trade! I learned at a young age the value of couponing and how to stretch that buck. The key to making it work for you is to wait for the items you have coupons for are on sale. I always clip all the coupons and file them and just wait...oftentimes the coupons that are featured in the papers are on sale at the grocery store either the week the insert is featured or a week or two after.

First of all, I think it is important to note that all Sentry stores are independently owned, so each store has a different policy. But, with a little research and calling, here is what we found! I used to work at one of these independently owned Sentry Food Stores and I can tell you...they are some of the most friendly stores out there! These were the only three I could find locally that offered double coupons, but you might want to call your local Sentry to see their policy...they could change any day :) Plus, with enough people inquiring, it's something they might consider! Rumor is that come August the Sentry on State Street will be changing their couponing policy - possibly even eliminating it. If and when that happens, I will share what I know.

INTERNET COUPONS ARE ACCEPTED :) However, depending on the Pick N Save you go to, you will not be able to use any FREE coupons printed off the internet or Buy One Get One Free has been reported a problem if printed off the internet.

Once in a while, Pick N Save will run a promotion where they have Double Double Daze in which you can double up to 10 coupons in one transaction.

Review of Zaycon Chicken - Chicken Fest: Day 9

Chicken Fest: Day 9

My wonderful wife was able to get a review of Zaycon Frozen Chicken. We received 40 lbs of frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts, which we split with Ann. I was wondering how we would go about trying the chicken and started to think about all the different dishes that use chicken, so in honor of Milwaukee, city of festivals, I came up with CHICKEN FEST.

We have reached the penultimate day of Chicken Fest. Our supply of chicken is dwindling and soon I will have to come up with dinner ideas featuring other proteins. I have enjoyed making all these meals using different preparation methods, hopefully illustrating that if you order a large amount of frozen chicken you are certainly not stuck facing eating the same thing every night.

Today Betsy and I continue our culinary travels with Chicken Salad Sandwiches.

CHICKEN FEST: DAY 9

Chicken Salad Sandwiches

This is a simple and easy way to make a creamy and delicious sandwich filling. Here is what you will need.

Put the chicken in a saucepan and pour in chicken broth to cover the breast pieces. Bring the broth to a boil, reduce heat to medium and boil for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes.

Using two forks, shred the chicken in a bowl to the desired consistency. Then add mayo, salt, and pepper to taste. You could add other things like celery, but I don't like doing that, I would consider adding bacon bits though, bacon makes everything better.

We served the chicken salad on some small rolls with a side of chips. It is also good on toast.

Tomorrow is the last day of Chicken Fest, so make sure to check in when our chicken puts on a coat and jumps in a hot bath.
