August 27th: Children's Orchard In Store Credit Giveaway ENDS 9/3/11 11:59pm CST

A gem I discovered from a friend is Children's Orchard. My sister had a baby girl in January and we have been having fun finding treasures for her all summer. I now have an excersaucer at my house and a bunch of baby toys along with a baby carrier and a few other items.

My mom and I found the baby carrier for $7.99 at Children's Orchard and a bunch of really nice outfits!

The store is very nicely organized and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I like that it is okay for your child to gently look at some of the toys while you shop. There are books, clothes, toys, and other parenting essentials. The prices are great-I don't think we purchased any outfits for over $5.00 a piece. The affordable prices are great because sometimes you don't want to invest too much in clothes your child is going to grow out of quickly.

We have been to a couple children's consignment and resale stores this summer and Children's Orchard seems to be the most reasonably priced and has the nicest items!

Another awesome item we picked up was a changing table! (I shared this in a separate post a bit ago.) It is still excellent! My niece seems to be much happier when it is diaper changing time at my house and I certainly enjoy not having to change her on the bathroom floor!

Dora and Boots are exploring the forest when they discover the gate to Fairy-Tale Land. Soon they find that there’s a mean witch who lives in Fairy-Tale Land and when Boots eats a banana from the witch’s fruit tree, Boots turns into Sleeping Boots! In order to break the witch’s spell, Sleeping Boots must get a hug from Princess Dora.

What Happens Next?
Abuela gives Dora a special star pocket to catch explorer stars, and Dora sets out to become a star catcher! With Boots’ help, she soon catches her first explorer star but Swiper swipes the star pocket and ties it to a balloon that floats all the way up to cloud castle.

The Magic Stick

First Day of School
Boots and Tico are really excited because it’s their first day of school ever. In their new school, they’ll learn in English and Spanish! Dora leads the way, teaching Boots Spanish and Tico English as they head out to school.

Boots' Banana Wish
Dora and Boots are at an amusement park where they have a special wishing machine. Boots makes a wish for bananas and suddenly a bunch fall down on Boots. He’s so happy but soon realizes that the bananas don’t stop coming.

I was lucky enough to be able to get Dora's Storybook Adventures for a review. My daughter and son really enjoyed watching it last night as I settled them in for bed. We weren't able to watch it all at bed time, so we continued where we left out at "quiet" time this afternoon. It was great to listen to the kids interact with Dora. It amazes me every time...my kids know more spanish than I do, and I have Dora to thank for that! Very cute compilation of DVDs. The kids loved them and there was no arguing as there is a lot of time about who will watch what. My son didn't find these too girly either. If you ask my daughter about them, she will tell you "I thought they were great!" My son said, "These were fun! I like the witch!" Of course he would...
