Determined to help them, Grandpa and Sassette call on their fellow Smurfs to bring some Christmas cheer into the old couple’s lives. Overnight, they lavishly decorate Gustav and Elise’s home with a Christmas tree, gifts and treats. The authorities however, accuse the poor couple of having pick-pocketed a villager in order to afford their extravagant feast. Will the Smurfs come to their rescue before the sheriff arrests Gustav on Christmas day?

I love that both of these specials are not only entertaining and enjoyable to watch, but they also offer  important messages about selflessness and compassion.  I was able to watch this with my children and we all loved it.  It has been a great reminder to care for one another and help to prepare us for the upcoming holiday season.

I received this for Christmas a couple years ago!  My sister in law rocks at gifts, I mentioned I wanted this and that was the best gift I got that year.  It is a cult classic.  There have been other shows that have done parodies if it.  Poor Laura Palmer.  If you have only seen a few episodes you might want to pick up this set because you really need to see the whole series to get all the story lines.
This really is a show you can watch over and over and still pick up little clues.  There are also quite a few big names that might surprise you!
