So for the second time this season the Packers took care of business against an inferior opponent. They pushed the Rams away like they were shooing away an annoying fly. What was impressive about that is that the Packers didn't play a full game and still won by 3 touchdowns. It was good to hear Rodgers reference that when he said there was a level of disappointment in the win, because they failed to move the ball well or score a single point in the second half. Given all of that Rodgers still threw for over 300 yards and 3 more touchdowns, and continues to be the leading candidate for MVP this year.
The receivers dropped a few more passes, including one by Jennings that turned into an interception. Those drops would have made the second half more productive offensively, but fortunately the Rams are such an inept team that they were not able to take advantage of their opportunities. That ineptness was helped along by the Packer defense, which gave up over 400 yards but only allowed 3 points, which I would take any week. Sam Shields intercepted a pass in the endzone, Clay Matthews had a sack, and AJ Hawk also had a sack, which he celebrated in an unusual way, costing him $10,000. In all a good performance by the team, and kudos to Mason Crosby for tying a team record for most consecutive field goals made.
This week the Packers head to Minnesota to take on a rookie quarterback making his first NFL start. The last time the team was in this situation they allowed a winless Tampa Bay team to mount a fourth quarter come back and lost. That was two years ago, and the players that are still on the team remember that well and have been reminding everyone not to take the Vikings lightly. I am slightly nervous about playing the game without Chad Clifton, who usually does a great job neutralizing Jared Allen, so keep an eye on Marshall Newhouse, who will probably get some help from running backs and tight ends in blocking Allen. The defense should be able to focus on stopping Adrian Peterson and dare Christian Ponder to beat them, which I don't think he can do. I think this game should end up very similar to last years game at Minnesota, a 31-3 Packers victory, which I was lucky enough to go see. Rodgers loves playing inside, and our receivers should have a field day hauling in touchdown passes, and our defense should be able to force a few turnovers.
During last weeks game, we enjoyed some sandwiches and one of our favorite side dishes, that came out of an older issue of

BBQ Roasted Potatoes with Sour Cream and Bacon Sauce
Combine 3 TBS olive oil, 2TBS BBQ seasoning, 1 TBS garlic powder, and 2 Tsp lemon juice in a bowl.
Dice 1.5 pounds of red skin potatoes (you could also use baby white potatoes). Add to the bowl and mix until potatoes are coated.
Wrap the potatoes in foil, and place on a cookie sheet. Bake them for 30 minutes at 400 degrees.
While the potatoes are cooking, combine 1 cup sour cream, 1 TBS worcestershire sauce, a few dashes of hot sauce and a bag of bacon bits in a bowl.
Mix together until combined and then put in fridge until potatoes are done.
Once the potatoes are done, checking them for softness, add them to the sour cream mixture and mix until the potatoes are coated.
These are so tasty, I suggest you give them a try. Enjoy.
