Do you have a Christmas Pickle Tradition?

Today on Facebook we were chatting about the tradition of the Christmas Tree Pickle Ornament.
We have had a pickle in our tree since we got married (almost 10 years ago) and before that my husband and I always had the pickle in our tree while growing up.  Neither of us did anything special with our families regarding the pickle.  While we were chatting today I see that there are two different ways to continue the tradition of the pickle, some families let the pickle finder open the first gift and some give a special little gift to the pickle finder.  I like the special little gift for the pickle finder, it doesn't need to be much maybe a candy item, a pair of socks or maybe to make it fun a jar of pickles!  I think the jar of pickles would be a hoot!


I was looking on line and came across more about pickle ornaments on eHow.com.
