THE NEW PRODUCTION OF THE PULITZER PRIZE AND TONY AWARD-WINNING MUSICAL COMES TO MILWAUKEE
MILWAUKEE – (November 19, 2012) – A CHORUS LINE, winner of 12 Tony Awards and a Pulitzer Prize, is back on tour with a new production. The show is coming to the Milwaukee Theatre for two performances Friday, Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m and Saturday, Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now!

A CHORUS LINE focuses on 17 dancers, all auditioning for the chance of a lifetime- to be in a Broadway musical. It's what they've worked for - with every drop of sweat, every hour of training, every day of their lives. It's the one opportunity to do what they've always dreamed -- to have the chance to dance.
The original production of A CHORUS LINE opened at the Public Theater’s Newman Theatre in 1975 and transferred to Broadway’s Shubert Theatre later that year. The show was directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winning director, writer, choreographer and dancer, Michael Bennett. The score was written by award-winning composer, Marvin Hamlisch and won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Score and Book, and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award.
A CHORUS LINE ran for nearly 15 years, closing in 1990 after 6,137 performances. The show held the title of the longest-running American musical in Broadway history for 28 years from 1983-2011 (when it was surpassed by Chicago)
This all new production will be directed and restaged by Baayork Lee, an original cast member of the show and assistant to Michael Bennett. Lee is an internationally acclaimed actress, singer, dancer, director and veteran choreographer.
