Have you tried...the Milwaukee Cupcake Company?

Mr Betsy and I have been to the Milwaukee Cupcake Company numerous times.  We really like it!  We have given some of their cupcakes as cute little treat gifts and just enjoyed them ourselves for a nice weekend treat.  You have probably seen us share some of their Facebook posts.
The Milwaukee Cupcake Company offers both "regular" sized cupcakes as well as mini sized cupcakes and occasionally offer Gluten Free and Vegan options!  I know that is a big benefit to some of you.  :)

All of the cupcakes are always beautifully decorated and delicious.  I will admit that my FAVORITE is the Botanical Gardens cupcake but is is only really avaliable around the summertime.  It has lavender in it!  Mr. Betsy enjoys the Tosa, the East Sider, and the Carrot flavors.  We do go year round and there are always wonderful options.  They also have a stamp card, when the stamp card is filled you get a free treat!

You can choose to eat there (there are a few little bistro tables avaliable) or take your cupcakes home, in nice boxes to keep them from getting messed up, that is what we always do.  There are also beverages, I haven't tried them yet but I am sure they are good, after all it is the Milwaukee Cupcake Company so we go there for the cupcakes!



Would we go back? ABSOLUTELY-we have already been there many times!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

The "All Natural Whole Boneless Pork Loin" is on sale this week at Pick 'n Save until Wednesday for $1.99/pound. This is a great item to purchase, chop up, and make several meals with!

We asked for your input on different recipes to try and have had a few responses. Here is one of the recipes that I am sure will be a huge hit!

Ingredients:

1 (2 pound) pork tenderloin

1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix

1 cup water

3/4 cup red wine

3 tablespoons minced garlic

3 tablespoons soy sauce

freshly ground black pepper to taste

Directions

-Place pork tenderloin in a slow cooker with the contents of the soup packet.

-Pour water, wine, and soy sauce over the top, turning the pork to coat.

-Carefully spread garlic over the pork, leaving as much on top of the roast during cooking as possible.

-Sprinkle with pepper, cover, and cook on low setting for 4 hours.

-Serve with cooking liquid on the side as au jus.

Garden Party Essentials...

If you are like me then you love having family and friends over to help celebrate any old occasion. When the summer season is here and the weather is being nice to us I love to get outside on the grass and take it all in.
The first thing you will need is good patio furniture. You don’t need to furnish the entire space but make sure that there is enough seating for everyone to sit at the same time. You may want to just get some plastic furniture and call it good but I’d suggest getting wooden chairs because they are sturdier and look a lot better. They aren’t as easily transported though. Having a table or two if you have the room, is great if you plan to hold dinner parties. If not then a few small tables for drinks and snacks will be enough. If you live in a place with a lot rain you may want to avoid some natural fibers and most kinds of cushions. Even if you use synthetic fabrics and cushions with synthetic batting then you should keep them inside or at very least under a canopy so they aren’t soaked through when you want to use them.
Speaking of canopies, that’s my second suggestion. Living someplace with unpredictable weather means that you get used to being rained on without warning. That doesn’t mean you have to accept it though. Get a couple pop up canopies and be ready all the time. They are easily broken down but are sturdy enough to leave up all the time. I know one friend who uses canopies over his farm equipment as opposed to buying large sheds for each piece. It’s a great option since they can be moved so easily and broken down when you don’t want them out.
Canopies are good to have on sunny days as well as a little oasis from the burning rays. I like using picnic umbrellas but unless you have picnic tables they are not stable enough and don’t cast enough shade. If you are hosting in your own garden as well you might not want to punch gigantic holes in your neatly tended grass.
These are just a couple suggestions to help make your next outdoor gathering easier and more pleasant for everyone involved.
