The Lorax to be released February 14 in a Deluxe Edition on Blu-Ray Review

You will be inspired to“speak for the trees” after watching Warner Home Video’s (WHV) Deluxe Edition of Dr. Seuss’s delightful tale of The Lorax. This beloved animated classic TV special will be available on high-definition Blu-ray as well as the Deluxe Edition for the first time on February 14, 2012. You can preorder your copy through Amazon for $16.99. Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax Deluxe Edition and the Blu-Ray will be sold in a Blu-ray combo pack which includes both the Blu-ray and DVD editions of the special, plus an Ultraviolet digital copy. Both releases will include all new EC including two bonus Dr. Seuss animated classics Butter Battle Book and Pontoffel Pock and His Magical Piano.

Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax is the classic TV special that tells the tale of how an enterprising but greedy villain named the Once-ler, strips a forest of its lush Truffula trees, bringing them to near extinction for the sake of profit.

The story begins with the Once-ler, a faceless businessman who lives alone in a sad, gray wasteland. He recounts how he first became obsessed with the Truffula trees’ potential to make him rich and how the Lorax, an endearing and wise little forest creature, tried to warn him that his greed was making him crazy.

It’s the Lorax’s job to “speak for the trees,” the wondrous Truffulas, that make up the beautiful forest in which various wildlife live, including Brown Bar-ba-loots, the Swamee-Swans, the Humming-Fish and the Lorax himself. The Once-ler, bewitched by the beauty of the Truffulas, greedily chops them down so he can mass produce versatile garments, called “Thneeds” out of the Truffula’s colorful tufts. As the trees swiftly disappear, so do the Brown Bar-ba-loots, the Swamee-Swans and the Humming-Fish. The wise old Lorax continuously warns the Once-ler but his words of wisdom are for naught as the “Thneed” business booms and the Once-ler is blinded by greed. What will it take for the Once-ler to learn his lesson? Will the Truffula trees become extinct or is there hope for regeneration?

I got a copy of The Lorax for review and was able to sit down with my children and watch it for the first time today. I must say, this is filled with lessons! It made for some good conversation about nature and our role in preserving it. We loved the animation and the music was great. This is for sure a favorite for the whole family to love!

If you are going to Pick 'n Save tomorrow, I highly recommend printing out these cereal coupons. This week General Mills cereal are $9.00 off instantly at checkout WYB six and you will get a Checkout Values coupon at checkout for a free dozen eggs and a gallon of milk. When I was at the Pick yesterday picking up last minute dinner items, I noticed a bunch of the boxes had Star Wars pens inside of them...I wasn't planning on getting the cereal, but this changed my mind!

Chicken Soup for the Soul: Find Your Happiness Review and Giveaway ENDS 2/11/12

I love Chicken Soup for the Soul books. I love the inspirational and devotional stories. They are a nice retreat from the norm these days. I love the "feel good" feeling I get after I read a few of the stories. It's a great way to wipe away the frustrations and ill-feelings I may have before a reading.
One of my favorite things to do is unwind at the end of the day and "get lost" in a book. Not that I have much time for that anymore after four children, but it is a special type of "meditation" I try to allow myself at least once a week. With so much negative going on around me, Chicken Soup for the Soul books gives me a positive mindset right before I drift off to sleep.
Recently, I was sent a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Find your Happiness. I truly believe that attitude is everything! Our attitude determines what kind of day you will have. Your attitude determines how you will take any bad news given or greet any difficult situation. This edition of Chicken Soup for the Soul is filled with stories who use positive thinking to find joys in their everyday life. It is a nice reminder to count your blessings and focus on the positives that surround you every day.
