Safe Glow Dog Collar Review

We were excited to have the opportunity to review a Safe Glow Dog Collar.  We usually walk Buckbeak at night after work and dinner.  Buckbeak is always excited when his red leash comes out, it is not retractable and thicker so he knows that a walk is coming.  Our neighborhood does not have a lot of streetlights.  Literally it is one on each corner.  That is it!  Even the lights from homes don't help much because there are pretty good sized front yards so the lights don't really help on the street.  So it is pretty dark once you leave the street light and head towards the middle of the block.  We do walk with a small flashlight but that can be cumbersome.  This collar is adjustable although you want to make sure you are getting the correct general size so it is not too big or too small.
I like the color, the orange is very bright when it is on, it is certainly visible from about a block away, we tested this, Mr. Betsy walked and I started first and waited mid next block and I could see them leave the house flashing all the way.
The main color is black and our bright color is orange.  The metal ring that you would clip the leash onto is not completely round, it is flat on one end which I like because it is more secure.  The clasp it very secure as well, it holds very well and you can hear it snap shut.  The collar is pretty lightweight, Buckbeack adjusted to it quickly.  I like that the fabric is more of a nylon versus a cloth that can get saturated quickly and get smelly.  With the Safe Glow Dog Collar I can rinse quick messes off versus scrubbing it.
When you are washing the Safe Glow Dog Collar you will want to remove the plastic inside part so it doesn't get ruined, just start by slipping out the button area and the whole glowing stick (look at video) then once the collar is dry slip everything back in.  The batteries are replaceable (the LED bulb should last about 100,000 hours).  The Safe Glow Dog Collar has three different glowing levels, the first is a fast pulse, the second is a medium pulse and the third is a constant glow.  The flashes or glow really does not seem to bother Buckbeak, I don't even think he can see them as we are walking.

Buckbeak tends to get excited when we are by other dogs and people walking by, also when he smells something exciting.  Therefore at some points he does pull and the collar has held up to his tugs, which sometimes can be a little crazy.  This collar is certainly useful as a light tool and really holds up to wear and tear.

We have walked past some other dog walkers and just alone walkers in our neighborhood and we have been complimented on the collar.  Usually we are told that we can be seen, it is always nice to know that someone is approaching you so you aren't caught off guard.
