Movie Review - The Muppets

I had a chance to see The Muppets earlier this week.  Since Betsy was busy at a coupon class, I took my Mom to the movie, she was excited to see it.

The story follows Gary and his twin brother Walter, who is a muppet.  As they grow up Gary continues to develop, but Walter struggles with what his purpose is in life.  Eventually they discover The Muppet Show on TV and Walter falls in love with it.

Years later Gary and his girlfriend Mary, plan a trip to Los Angeles to celebrate their 10th anniversary, they bring Walter along to visit the Muppet Theater.  They discover the theater has seen better times, not many people care about the Muppets any more, and there is a sinister plot to tear down the theater.

Walter takes it upon himself to try and reunite the Muppets so that they can put on a show to try and save their theater.  Will they be able to get everyone to join in?  Will the show go off without a hitch?  Will they succeed in saving their theater?  What celebs will make cameos?  Will Gary and Walter find out what is most important in their lives?  Check out the movie to find out.

There are plenty of music/dance numbers, and just like the old show, a good number of celebrities that show up.  There are a good number of jokes for all the age groups that would be attending, from the kids to the parents, to the grand-parents.  This would be a great movie for the whole family to see together.  It also serves as a nice introduction of The Muppets to kids and a trip down memory lane for the parents and grand-parents.

My Mom and I both really enjoyed it, seeing it would be a nice break from the hustle and bustle of this busy Thanksgiving weekend.  Also there was a pretty funny Toy Story short that played before the movie.
