Check out this high value and RARE coupon on Coupons.com to save $1.00/1 box of Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal.  This will help me to make one of my favorite bar recipes this year!

These are a favorite treat in our house!  I make them every year at Christmas and they are the first gone...this year I plan on making two batches so I can have a few. 

POST Cereal:  Cereal Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 Cups of Crunchy Peanut Butter
• 2/3 Cup of Maple Syrup (pancake syrup works just fine)
• 2/3 Cups of Sugar
• 3 Cups Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal (I use the one with Almonds)
• 4 squares semi sweet chocolate melted (I double this so it goes on easier)

Directions:

• MICROWAVE peanut butter, syrup and sugar in large microwavable bowl on HIGH 3 minutes, stirring every minute.
• POUR over cereal in large bowl; mix to coat well. Press into greased foil-lined 13x9-inch pan. SPREAD melted chocolate evenly over cereal mixture.
• Let stand or refrigerate until chocolate is firm. Cut into 24 bars. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Did you know you can go ice skating on Christmas?

Are you looking for something to do on Sunday with your family?  I know you will probably be spending the day with your family and enjoying a great meal and playing with all the goodies that you received but it is also important to be active. :)  Maybe start a new tradition...ice skating!

Milwaukee County Red Arrow Park has an outdoor refrigerated rink!
On Christmas Day the rink will be open from 2pm-10pm.

No skates under the tree?  No problem, you can rent them there for $7 if you are under 18 years old and $8 for older than 18.
Now this is not open only on Christmas, there are hours during the week too, be sure to check out the hours during the week, maybe this would be a fun activity over Winter Break!

Have you been to Candy Cane Lane yet? You better hurry!

You can still head to Oklahoma Avenue and Montana Avenue until December 26th!  Monday through Friday the lane will be lit up from 6pm-9m and Saturdays and Sundays from 5-10pm.I have not made it there yet this year, but I think we will be taking a drive this weekend. :)When I was looking for information on Candy Cane Lane I saw that a certain jolly person in red may make an appearance nightly through 12/24!  (You can expect him to make an appearance on 12/25!)Click here to go to the MACC Fund website and see any special events that might still be going on during Candy Cane Lane.  I remember always taking canned food, you might want to take something in case they are collecting.  Also there is always someone going around collecting donations so be sure to take some change or a few dollars to donate, this is a fundraiser for the MACC Fund. :)

Quick Dinners For a Busy Holiday Season - Jack's Frozen Pizza ENDS 12/22/11 10:00PM CST

Betsy and I had the opportunity to try out Jack's Frozen Pizza.  Jack's had previously been focused on selling it's product in the Midwest, however recently they have expanded sales from coast-to-coast, Jack's Pizza is now available nationally at Walmart Super Centers.

To celebrate this expansion Jack's provided us with a party pack, which Betsy and I used to decorate the kitchen when we had Jack's Pizza for dinner.

Jack's Pizza was created in 1960 in Little Chute, WI and is still made with 100% real Wisconsin cheese.  It is available in a number of varieties, including Sausage & Pepperoni, Cheese, Pepperoni, and Supreme, among others.  For more information, visit Jack's Pizza Facebook page.

We chose to try a Jack's Naturally Rising Combination Pizza, with Sausage & Pepperoni.

The pizza had a generous amount of toppings and multiple shredded cheeses.

After baking in the oven, the cheese was melted and the crust was a nice golden brown.

We cut it up and started in on it.

Because there was a generous amount of toppings each piece ended up with both sausage and pepperoni on it.  The cheese was gooey and delicious.  The sauce had a nice spice to it, lingering in your mouth even after you were finished.  The natural rising crust was crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside.  In all it was a very good frozen pizza, and we should know because we are frozen pizza experts.
