This weekend, June 1-2 is Free Fishing Weekend in the state of Wisconsin. State residents as well as those that live out-of-state are able to fish in Wisconsin without a license all weekend.

All of the waters of the state are open including state waters of the Great Lakes and rivers bordering Wisconsin. Residents and non-residents of all ages can fish without a fishing license (or trout or salmon stamps) over these two days, however all other fishing regulations (length limits, bag limits, etc.) apply. Visit the Free Fishing Weekend page on the DNR website for more information.

Free fishing clinics and activities are scheduled at several locations throughout the state including a clinic at Memorial Park in Oconomowoc on Saturday.

In conjunction with Free Fishing Weekend, admission to all state parks, forest, trails and recreation areas are free on Sunday.

The annual Free Fishing Weekend is sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and local sporting clubs.
