Bug Day is this Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014 from 1 - 4 pm at the Wehr Nature Center!
Scurry over to Wehr for all kinds of six-legged fun!
- See The Bug Whisperer in a special show at 1:30 p.m., as he takes kids through the crawly and cool world of insects and their kin in "Who Wants to be an Entomologist?"
- Sample Creepy Crawly Cuisine–Try a protein-rich treat cooked by Chef Bill (Yes! He'll be cooking bugs!)
- Meet renowned Lepidopterist (Butterfly specialist) Phil Holzbauer and see his exhibit featuring Butterflies from around the World.
- Watch a Bee-Keeping Demonstration–Meet the Keeper of the Colonies at 3 p.m.
- Tour the Amazing Insect Zoo–Visit with a Walking Stick, listen to a Hissing Cockroach, and be amazed by beautiful beetles.
- Meet Pepper the Bed-Bug-Sniffing Dog. She's cute and cuddly, but when it comes to bed bugs, she's all business!
- Relax in Larva Land–(That's "insect talk" for little ones) Let your children explore the world of arthropods at their own pace.
- Take a course, Dr. Artha Poda's Insects 101– Learn what makes an insect an insect and much more! For ages 6 and up.
- Dip for Critters– Get your hands wet as you dip into Mallard Lake to gather some invertebrates from their home
- Learn how to turn your backyard into a Butterfly Garden - Get advice from experts
