It's almost that time of year again...one of my favorite things to do during the warmer months is get together and meet friends at the Beer Gardens located throughout the Milwaukee County Parks!
Experience an old Milwaukee tradition in the Parks - Beer Gardens! In the mid-19th Century, Milwaukee’s German immigrants brought biergartens and Gemütlichkeit to the parks.
Entering its fourth year, the Traveling Beer Gardens will once again feature a Sprecher Brewery mobile kiosk setting up shop in 12 Milwaukee County parks from May 17 – September 4. Live music will be included Wednesdays through Saturdays from 5 – 8 p.m.
Beer gardens on the 12-stop tour are staffed by Milwaukee County Parks employees and offer 10 on-tap Sprecher beers, served in souvenir glass pints and steins, with refills offered at reduced prices at any stop on the tour. In addition, flights of five beer samples are served. Other Sprecher selections include gluten-free beer, hard sodas, sodas, and root beer floats. Wine and snacks, including soft pretzels, are also available.
Families are welcome to pack their own picnic lunches or suppers and non-alcoholic beverages. License restrictions prohibit the carry-in of any alcohol. Grilling is not allowed at the beer-garden sites or the immediate surrounding area.
Also returning will be the Beer Garden 5K Run, a series of four races through various parks, ending at a Traveling Beer Garden.

There is also a great one run by a local German group at the Schwabenhof in Menomonee Falls. It's on Thursday evenings from May- September. Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food and a great selection if bier!
