Remember the Groupon for the Northpoint Lighthouse? We did pick one up when it was available. We recently checked it out. If you are looking for a unique experience you will want to go yourself. We are lucky to have this treasure right by our lakefront! Even without the Groupon you can attend at a very reasonable price, only $5 per person! When you enter just pay and go! There are some neat things to look at before or after you climb the lighthouse. You can also ask questions of the volunteers. The grounds are also beautiful as well.
Forewarning...Mr. Betsy and I went on this fun journey, I have to be honest...I did not make it to the top, I stopped two floors from the top. Mr. Betsy did make it to the top. I am not a "chicken" it was just a bit too high for me and it gets narrower and hotter as you go up. I am also not a fan of open steps which are all the way up and I knew I still had to get back down. :) It is a fun experience, I would suggest no kiddos only because it might be a little scary.
