Each year we send in a treat with each school-aged child for their classroom parties.  I always find myself headed to Pick 'n Save the night before the party to find a treat or a quick and easy snack I can prepare that evening.  This year three of my four children are in school, so I have been dreading the thought of the Halloween snacks to send in.  I have decided to be more organized and ready for these upcoming parties - no staying up late for me!  As they grow older, the requests are getting more and more detailed and, to be honest, I just don't have time for it!  Not to mention there is a nut allergy in one class, so I had to change it up this year.  I wanted to find a treat that would be okay for those with nut allergies to take and something that was cute and fun!  I did a little research on brand names to be sure that I was abiding by what was safe and nut-free!

Our Halloween is always jam-packed.  We go trick-or-treating at least two times every year.  Last year we were invited to and went to FIVE different trick-or-treating events!  Too much candy...too many sweets!  And, to be honest, guess who ate the bulk of it?  My husband and myself!  So, this year we are limiting it to two events.  Limiting events means, hopefully, limiting the intake of sweets!

I love that Pick 'n Save makes all of my Halloween treat shopping easy!  It's all in one place!  My children were over-the-top excited to help me make this delicious recipe for Halloween Popcorn Witch's Hands!  They love popcorn and they love sweets!  Doesn't get much better than this creative goodie!  This recipe will make ten hands, adjust your recipe accordingly.

Ingredients:
50 Pieces of Candy Corn
10 Clear, Plastic Latex-Free Disposable Gloves
3 Packages of Butter-Flavored Microwave Popcorn, Popped
10 Pieces of Orange Ribbon (to tie on top of the gloves)

These were so easy and my children just loved helping me put these together.  I was thrilled that all of my ingredients were easy to find at Pick 'n Save.  I even picked up the cute plate these are resting on for a great price!  My daughter is looking forward to taking her treats to school on it!

The first thing we did was to put one piece of candy corn in each hand of each glove.  This is pretty simple, but my youngest was getting frustrated because they didn't "drop" right and the pieces were facing the wrong way.  So, I would save this for the older children.

After we filled each finger with candy corn, we added the popcorn.  Pretty simple, right?  Well...this got a little tricky for us as the fingers in the glove were skinnier than expected.  We had to crunch up some of the pieces of popcorn to fit into each finger.

After filling in each finger, we filled the rest of the gloves with more popcorn.  Then tied the top with ribbon.  I used orange to make my treat more colorful.  One thing I love about this recipe is how easy it is to "doctor" it up.  You can add spider rings to make it more Halloween-y.  I thought these turned out so cute!

There will be an in-store Trick or Treat at Pick 'n Save stores Saturday, 10/25 from 10 am to 2 pm.

The Wisconsin Potato board is putting together this year’s PotatoPalooza on 10/25 from 10 am to 2 pm in Mount Pleasant:

These are SO CUTE! As a mom who has a son with Celiac Disease, I really appreciate that you did some research on what you could feed the kids in your children's classes. These treats should be safe for my little man, so I am bookmarking this right now so I can make them for his classroom! #client
