Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood is a revival of the classic Peter and the Wolf tale brought to you by acclaimed production company, Giants Are Small. This version brings Peter to Hollywood to meet his hippie grandfather while bringing classical music elements to life. Peter, along with all of the characters in the movie book, are narrated and brought to life by Rock n’ Roll legend, Alice Cooper.
My son came home from school a few weeks ago with a Peter and the Wolf hat that he received in music class. He told me all about the music they had heard and he was excited to share his music class learnings with me! So, naturally, when I was given the opportunity to download the Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood App, I was more than a little excited!
I downloaded the app and sat with my boys one afternoon so we could explore. To my surprise, the boys clung to every word. My sons commented, "We heard this song in music class!" They were so excited to have the opportunity to put a little face...a little picture to the music.
They sat and went through it together (let me tell you...it was honestly the best I have seen them get along in months!). They laughed, talked, and shared predictions! It was one of those mommy moments I wanted to bottle up forever!
My sons all laughed hysterically when they saw Peter meeting his grandfather for the first time. They loved the duck that Peter befriends. There wasn't a part that they didn't like. I love that they are being immersed in classical music - without even realizing it!
All of the children loved that they could explore and find out how things were made. Summer is right around the corner and I know I will be pulling this app out for the children on rainy and "boring" days to help them explore!
