Breakfast at Wimbledon - Fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

Links provided may be from affiliate programs which help support this blog. Thanks for clicking!
Elite Sports Club is hosting "Breakfast at Wimbledon", a fundraiser event for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Southeastern Wisconsin chapter, on Saturday, June 26, from 10 am to noon at the Mequon Elite Sports club (11616 N. Port Washington Road in Mequon). Here's an excerpt with important information from the press release:

While watching the Wimbledon match live on a large screen live from London, England, guests will be seated at center court on the Mequon Elite Sports Club tennis court.  The menu will feature a special English-themed breakfast, catered by the Marcus Corporation.  Entrees include strawberries and cream, crumpets, bangers (British sausage), French Toast, eggs, potatoes, tea, champagne and more.

Following breakfast, all attendees will be invited to enjoy the Mequon Elite Sports Club for the remainder of the day, including the recently completed indoor and outdoor salt-water pools, exercise equipment and family gym.

“Hosting a Breakfast at Wimbledon event is a wonderful way for us at Elite to not only raise funds for the local JDRF chapter, but also to showcase one of tennis’ top events to the community,” stated Kay Yuspeh, owner of Elite Sports Clubs.  “We invite everyone to bring their families for breakfast, watch the match, and enjoy our newly expanded club,” she added.

Adult price is $35.00/per person and children 12 and under are $10.00.  Guests are encouraged to wear “their tennis whites.”  Tickets are available at the Elite Mequon Sports Club front desk or by calling 262-241-4250.  Credit card payment will be accepted in person or via phone.  Ticket prices include the breakfast, use of Mequon Elite on June 26th, and a ticket for the sweepstakes.

I think this a great opportunity to Pay it Forward, as well as a chance for a unique experience! Click here for more information or to purchase tickets online. There is no deadline for buying tickets & tickets will also be sold at the door.

Snapple - 2 New Flavors for Diabetes & Autism Charities

Links provided may be from affiliate programs which help support this blog. Thanks for clicking!

If you watched "The Celebrity Apprentice" Finale last night you saw that the final task for Bret Michaels and Holly Robinson-Peete was to create their own Iced Tea flavor. Both of them came up with some tasty sounding choices. I am definitely going to try to get at least a bottle or two of each of their creations.

Right now, but only for a limited time, Snapple is producing both Bret's Trop-A-Rocka Diet Tea as well as Holly's Compassionberry Tea.

Check out Snapple's site to see where you can find these new teas and support both of their important causes: Diabetes and Autism.

Plus, check out my earlier post about the Snapple Rebate going on right now. You might be able to get a 6 pack of their all-natural tea for free!

KFC - Buckets for the Cure

Links provided may be from affiliate programs which help support this blog. Thanks for clicking!

I posted the original message a few weeks ago. I just received an update from KFC stating that this program has already raised more than $3.03 million dollars!!! If you did not see this a few weeks ago, please keep reading and help out if you wish. This program runs through May 23rd, so there is still time to Pay It Forward.

Right now all of us can help try to make the largest single donation to end breast cancer forever.

KFC is joining the fight against breast cancer with a national "Buckets for the Cure" campaign, aimed at educating more women and men about breast health, generating support for the cause and attempting to make the single largest donation in the history of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Through May 23rd, KFC will be dedicating special pink buckets to Komen for the Cure, with KFC restaurant operators having donated 50 cents for each pink bucket purchased by the operator before May 9th.

KFC fans and supporters can find out more about the program by visiting bucketsforthecure.com. At the site, you can read stories about people whose lives have been affected by the disease, upload your own story and even make a donation to support breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs.

Check out this You Tube video showing a Louisville KFC restaurant being painted pink. And the Colonel's suit has been changed temporarily from white to pink, that's how committed KFC is to this very worthwhile and urgent cause.
