Milwaukee Public Museum: FREE Admission Thursday, April 2

 

ALL visitors receive FREE access to the permanent exhibits of Milwaukee Public Museum on the first Thursday of every month during Kohl's Thank You Thursday.

KTYT is free for individuals and families (excluding groups). Children must be accompanied by an adult to receive free admission.  The museum hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Save the date!  Saturday, December 6, admission is FREE to the Milwaukee County Zoo!

A trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo is a great way to spend any day. You know what’s even better? A free day at the Zoo! Family Free Days are back at the Zoo, as everyone will receive free admission on the first Saturday of the months of January-March and October-December. (Regular parking and concession fees still apply.) So, load up the car and come on down to the Zoo to see all your favorite furry, feathery, scaly and slimy animals.

Zoo Pass Plus and Platypus Circle members get free parking.

Visit the Small Mammals Building to see prehensile-tailed porcupine, Guillermo. Now almost 8 months old, he’s comfortable in his habitat – with many enrichment items to keep him engaged and active.

FREE Family Fun in Milwaukee: Bayshore Bunny Hop and Egg Hunt Saturday, April 8

Celebrate Spring at BAYSHORE's 2nd annual Bunny Hop and Egg Hunt presented by Kilwins Milwaukee-Bayshore!

Festivities will be held on Saturday, April 8th from 12 - 2 pm. The Egg Hunt will start at 1:00 pm with special treats and offers from Kilwins and an exquisite Golden Egg filled with a certificate for Kilwins Original Recipe Ice Cream for a year, and treats and special offers from Bayshore retailers. Kid Boogie Down will get you dancing with the Easter Bunny (and get your photo too) and festive characters from Fairytale Birthday Company.

The Hop Streetcar is FREE to Ride: Explore Milwaukee on The Hop

Best part?  It's FREE to ride!

With its colorful and spacious cars, accessible platforms, and convenient stops, The Hop is designed to accommodate riders of all ages and abilities.

Along the route, you’ll find a variety of engaging and family-friendly destinations that are sure to keep everyone entertained.

You can board The Hop at any of the stops along the route.

Streetcars arrive every 15 minutes during peak hours and every 20 minutes during off peak hours and on weekends.

Milwaukee County Zoo: Egg Day Saturday, April 8

Hippity-hop to the Milwaukee County Zoo for a day filled with “egg-straordinary” activities, all with an Easter theme! Some of the highlights include animal egg enrichment, an Easter parade, colorful crafts, and more! Don’t forget to visit your favorite animals, too!

• Grab your own set of Bunny Ears to look like our furry friend.

• Count the golden eggs along the Egg Hunt trail and receive a special treat!
• Choose your favorite Face Painting design and show off your springtime spirit!
• Spring has sprung for the elephants! Add your chalk flower design to the Garden Path!
• An egg-stra special event has animals like big cats and otters enjoying Enrichment Items to encourage natural behaviors.
• Hop aboard the North Shore Bank Train and search for the carrots the Bunny left behind.

Make the Zoo part of your Easter fun this year – Saturday, April 8.

What are the Traveling Beer Gardens?

The Traveling Beer Gardens are two restored fire trucks, converted into a mobile beer truck serving up craft brews from Milwaukee’s Sprecher Brewery. Two trucks travel around Milwaukee County Parks on two simultaneously running tours between May and September.

The Traveling Beer Garden is run by Milwaukee County Parks concessions staff. All revenue collected goes back into improving the parks.

Kohl's Art Generation Family Sundays: Brush with Greatness THIS Sunday, 7/21

Experience art with your family at Kohl’s Art Generation Family Sundays, the Museum’s lively event that happens five times a year! Enjoy hands-on art activities, performances, family tours, visiting artists, and more! These events are free with Museum admission and for kids twelve and under. Free for Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee with their membership card or invite sheet.

Kohl’s Art Generation Family Sundays: Brush with Greatness

Sunday, July 21, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

Explore contemporary painting, with a focus on the giant, gestural works of artist James Nares in the exhibition Moves—and even meet the artist himself! Create your own paintbrush, experiment using a machine to make a painting, and “act out” brushstrokes with help from guest dancers.

FREE Family Fun: FREE Admission to Boerner Botanical Gardens TOMORROW, 7/2

It's back again this year for the 2019 season! The first Tuesday of every month from May – September, Boerner Botanical Gardens is opening admissions up to Milwaukee County Residents for FREE! Don’t miss out on this special opportunity to visit the Gardens!

Make Art in the Parks: AWE Summer Truck Studio Program - FREE Art Activities at select Milwaukee County Parks and Playgrounds

AWE’S Summer Truck Studio Program partners with Milwaukee County Parks and Milwaukee Recreation to offer three hours of free arts enrichment activities daily over a six week period in parks and playgrounds throughout Milwaukee, as well as a series of evening visits to targeted community gatherings. Artists collaborate closely with youth participants to create a number of imaginative take home projects ranging from sculpture to painting to mixed-media collage and beyond.

AWE:  Artists Working in Education will be at select parks Mondays through Fridays noon-3PM!
