Stan’s 5th Annual “Share-A-Pair” Shoe Drive
February 1 - 28 to Benefit
Soles4Souls and Other Local Shelters

GREATER MILWAUKEE, WI – If your New Year’s resolution is to clear out clutter in your closets, here is your perfect opportunity to help others while getting rid of shoes you no longer need - Stan’s Fit For Your Feet is hosting their “Fifth Annual Share-A-Pair” shoe drive from Monday, February 1 thru Sunday, February 28. Since its inception in 2006, the annual shoe drive has collected over 75,000 pairs of new or gently used shoes from generous Milwaukeeans.

People can drop off their shoe donations Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at any of the “Share-A-Pair” collection bins at Stan’s Brookfield store, in The Plaza at 17155 W. Bluemound Road, Stan’s Glendale store across from Bay Shore Town Center at 505 W. Silver Spring Drive and Stan’s Greenfield store in the Layton Plaza at 7405 W. Layton Ave.

Some of the donated shoes will be given locally to Repairer's of the Breach adult day shelter in Milwaukee and to Father Gene's HELP Center in West Allis. The remaining shoes will be sent to Soles4Souls, a national not-for profit organization, which has distributed more than 12.8 million pairs of shoes needy people to 125 countries around the world since its inception after the Asian Tsunami in 2004.

As a way of saying thanks, any person who drops off shoes for the shoe drive will receive a $10 gift certificate to be used towards a footwear purchase during February at any Stan’s Fit For Your Feet location. Children’s shoe donations will receive a $5 gift certificate to be used towards a future pair of kids’ shoes.

In addition, Admirals’ fans attending the Friday, February 18 or Sunday, February 20 games will have the opportunity to “Share-A-Pair” at a special drop off location within the Bradley Center.

“We are grateful for the support this program has received the last four years and we are hoping to reach a new level of support for the shoe drive in 2011,” said Jim Sajdak, owner of Stan’s Fit For Your Feet. “We hope everyone will be inspired to come out and meet Wayne and donate their gently used shoes to those less fortunate here in Milwaukee and around the world.”

“This is a really easy way to help Soles4Souls and Repairers of the Breach who are both doing incredible things for the less fortunate people in our world,” continued Sajdak, “This is such an easy way to clear the clutter out of your closet, recycle and donate that pair of gently used shoes to a wonderful cause.”
