Across the United States, 2.5 million combat veterans have returned from Iraq and Afghanistan and many of them struggle to cope with life after war. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, 16 veterans commit suicide every day. Not Alone helps active-duty soldiers, veterans, and their families address the emotional and psychological effects of combat experience with mental-health counseling and support services.
Comprised of a community of civilians and former-military members, Not Alone's team facilitates the postwar-therapy process with a range of online programs and resources as well as free, confidential counseling services. Online groups connect soldiers, veterans, and their loved ones, allowing them to share stories, support, and advice. The organization also provides professional mental-health counseling through a partnership with Centerstone, a provider of community-based behavioral health care. Counseling that is both confidential and free improves access to mental-health care for those who might not otherwise get it.
Join G-Team and donate $1, $5, or $25 to help fund counseling and support for active-duty soldiers, combat veterans, and their families. If G-Team members raise $25, Not Alone can provide one service person with one hour of professional mental-health counseling. Each additional $25 raised will fund either another hour of counseling for a service person or two weeks of support-group therapy for a family member of a service person.
