So, photographing a family with four children can be super tricky. I love working with people that do photography and are up for the challenge of my busy family! So, when I got contacted from Frenn Photography in West Allis to do a review of "The Barn Yard," an Olive You Limited Edition at Frenn Photography, I got pretty excited! I love having themed and seasonal photos of my children to take out throughout the seasons.  This one is PERFECT for the fall season!

To start my day, I was running back and forth trying to get my kids ready for the photo session.  My husband had to work, so I was on my own trying to get all the kids clean, dressed, and "camera ready."  By the time I got to the studio, I was a tad flustered and pretty much on edge.  As soon as I walked in, I felt as if I walked into a good friend's home.  I was greeted at the door by Photographic Artist, Amber.  She was so friendly and easygoing and right off the bat...GREAT with my children!  They are all pretty shy when they first meet people, but Amber put them at ease and immediately took them off so that I could go over the session and options for picture choices.  I was amazed at how COMFORTABLE my children were right away!  I knew we had met someone special!
For this photo session, they offer overalls for children up to 5T, so my younger two were able to put on some overalls while my older ones just wore what they came dressed in.  While I was getting the younger two changed, Amber took the older two and worked them into a couple of pictures.  She did some individual shots and a couple of photos matching the children up together.  As you can see there is some very unique artwork offered at Frenn Photography! They enhance the images you order with the Olive You Photography’s signature story book finish giving your portraits a hand sketched and painted appearance.

Amber was good with the children...and ME...throughout the entire session!  Never once did we feel rushed.  I am a control freak...I admit it!  But, they made it clear that I had NOTHING to worry about and that I could just sit and relax while they worked their magic.
A few times my youngest son wanted to give up, as we all know two year olds tend to get overstimulated and just want to have the inevitable meltdown.  I was SHOCKED when Amber stepped me through exactly how to handle him and redirect him...right back into the pictures!  As a parent, it's hard to let someone else take control in this kind of situation because we think we know what's best.  But, Amber clearly had the experience and made it work for my little man!  This was actually taken when his sister was supposed to have her own individual shots, but he wanted to steal her thunder...and he did...for the moment!  Amber's experience and her photographic eyes caught so many great opportunities that I never would have thought to catch!

The whole experience was awesome!  From the minute we walked in all the way up until the moment we walked out the door from our preview meeting, I sat in awe.  Amber was great every step of the way!  Never once did I feel as if my children were rushed or a burden (yes, I have taken them to one place in particular and left in tears because I felt rushed and that my children were a burden!  And, the photographer came right out and pretty much barked at my children!).  I felt as if Amber looked at my children through my eyes and saw them as I see them...a blessing!  When we got together to preview the photos, I walked into a studio transformed into a theater-type setting.  There was a projector that showed me a slideshow of the pictures taken.  I was so moved by the art work, that I teared up at the happy moments caught through the camera's lens!  Amber was truly amazing throughout this process as well.  I had such a hard time choosing and narrowing my choices down...she reassured me that my photos would never be removed or deleted and I could always go back and order more down the road.  She was so good about stepping me through and giving me her honest opinions as well.  I felt as if I was sitting with a good friend having a coffee.  My two youngest were there and there was no shortage of distractions for them so that I could relax and enjoy the preview experience!

I highly recommend Frenn Photography!  Amber specializes in maternity, newborn, and children photography.  However, Frenn Photography does family portraits, high school senior portraits, and business portraits.  Whatever your needs, Frenn Photography will work with you to best meet your needs.
