Standing Rows
- These are done from a standing position.
- Loop a towel around a vertical pole or column or another fixed object so that the ends of the towel are pointing towards you and the towel is wrapped around the far side of the pole.
- Have your feet close up to the pole and lean back gripping on the ends of the towel and keeping your body stiff and straight.
- Row yourself up with both arms.
- Keep your back arched and row with your back.
Rows are great for building those back muscles. I love these because all you need is some kind of pole (I use my treadmill bar) and a towel!
- You can really work on your lower body without anyone noticing by practicing leg bends under your desk. This is great if you're frequently on the phone or the computer and bored out of your skull. Simply unbend your knees and raise up your legs - hold the position for a few seconds and lower them back down. Try several repetitions of this throughout the day.
