My husband and I needed a good date night, so off we went to enjoy some good burgers
at Sobelman's Eastside Grill.  We really wanted to try their Bacon Double Cheeseburger that they have entered in the America's Ultimate Cheeseburger Contest.  Let me start by saying...YUM!  It was juicy and delicious!  My husband and I shared the bacon cheeseburger because we wanted to try a couple other items off of their menu and we were pleased all around!  The meat was DELICIOUS and the bacon had just the right crisp.  When we went it wasn't busy at all (we went at an off time), so there was no problem with seating.  We enjoyed every bite of the burgers and a side of Jalapeno Poppers! We really want to try all three Sobelman's locations.  They are super good and not hard on the pocketbook...the challenge we have is finding a sitter so we can go out, but I am thinking since the kids have off this summer, we might give it a try one of these days for lunch with grandpa!  I was impressed with the atmosphere while we ate.  It was quiet, not too busy, and clean!  I looked over the menu and I am sure each of my children could find one thing they would enjoy off of the menu!  The laid-back atmosphere we experienced would make it a good fit for a busy family!  Here is the recipe that Sobelman's uses when making these uber-yummy cheeseburgers:

If you didn't cast your vote yet, head over to Sargento’s Facebook page and vote in “America’s Ultimate Cheeseburger” contest! Sobelman's entered their recipe for the perfect Bacon Double Cheeseburger! They certainly got our vote!

As promised earlier, I wanted to share a recipe that my husband and I have used in making some yummy kid-friendly and kid-approved cheeseburgers!  We like to cook on the grill in the summer.  We like to have our children get down and dirty with us in the kitchen (well, the two older ones at least!).  So, I put the aprons on my two oldest and we went to work creating these yummy cheeseburgers that are a favorite in our home!

BBQ Ranch Cheeseburger

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of lean ground beef
  • 1 oz package of dry ranch dressing mix
  • 1/2 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup of ranch dressing
  • cooking spray
  • 6 - 8 slices Sargento Monterey Jack cheese
  • 6 - 8 Rolls
  • Lettuce (optional)
  • Tomato (optional)
  • Onions (optional)
Directions

1.  In large bowl, mix ground beef with the ranch dressing mix until blended.  Shape beef into 6 - 8 patties (we usually make them a little smaller because small hands need smaller patties).
2.  In small bowl, mix together your favorite barbecue sauce and ranch dressing and set aside.
3.  Spray grill with cooking spray and preheat grill.
4.  Grill patties for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side.
5.  Top each patty with one slice of cheese and let sit until cheese begins to melt.  Remove patties.
6.  Spread barbecue/dressing mixture on top of each roll.  Add lettuce/tomato/onion as desired (or not desired).
7.  Place patty with cheese on bottom portion of roll.  Put smothered top half of roll on top of patty...ENJOY!
