If you remember I went to the apple orchard with my family a couple of weeks ago. We have a ton of apples and I wanted to use them up before they started to go bad. So, we made some Apple Crumble for dessert last night! This was an easy recipe that my children helped me with...and polished off every last bit! YUM!

Ingredients:

  • 5 medium sized apples
  • 2/3 cup of maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup of rolled oats
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven for 375 degrees
  2. Place the apples in an 8x8 inch baking dish.
  3. Pour maple syrup over the apples.
  4. In a bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar. Stir in the flour, salt and oats.
  5. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples.
  6. Bake in preheated oven 35 minutes, until golden and bubbly and apples are tender.
I used MacIntosh apples for this recipe and it all turned out perfectly!  Apples were tender, but not mushy.  YUMMY!
