Looking to get crafty for Halloween? Make these Eye Candle Holders...

Links provided may be from affiliate programs which help support this blog. Thanks for clicking!
I am always looking for ways to re-purpose items and fun crafts for my kiddos at work.  I found this project in my Family Fun Magazine a while back but here is a link to the project online.  Instead of purchasing the votive older I use baby food jars!  You could certainly use jars from pasta sauce or any thing else, you would just be making it on a larger scale.  I put a layer of Mod Podge down then one of my hole punched papers (torn about 1/2 by 1 inch).  Then put the Mod Podge on top too so it seals.  It dries clear so you don't need to worry about white spots.  When everything is dry just make a pupil with a black permanent marker or paint pen.  If you are using a jar with a lid you could also use this as a treat jar too!

FREE E-mail craft newsletter...

Links provided may be from affiliate programs which help support this blog. Thanks for clicking!

I subscribe to this newsletter!  I really enjoy the variety-I am trying to get into knitting-without a lot of success although I am a jewelry crafter-there are some great ideas in each newsletter!  I work with children so the recycled item projects really come in very handy!  The pictures are always very eye-catching, that is why I subscribed in the first place.  I definitely use at least 3-4 ideas from each newsletter!

Check it out!

Thanksgiving Craft - Turkey Napkin Ring

Links provided may be from affiliate programs which help support this blog. Thanks for clicking!
I think this looks so cute & it will be a great way to get the kids involved in helping to prepare for Thanksgiving!

What you'll need:
Empty cardboard tubes, scissors, colored craft foam, scalloped-edge scissors, foam mounting tape, googly eyes, Hold the Foam! glue

How to make it:
- Cut cardboard tubes into 1-inch-wide rings.
- Cut 5 x 1 1/8-inch pieces of foam; glue one around each ring.
- To make the turkey's body, cut out one 2-inch circle from craft foam.
- For the layered "feathers," cut out one 3-inch and one 4-inch circle from foam, then cut both in half. Trim the rounded edges with scalloped scissors.
- Glue the 4-inch half-circle to the center of the napkin ring; let dry.
- For dimension, use mounting tape to layer the 3-inch half-circle on top, then the 2-inch circle on top of that.
- Cut out a turkey head, beak, and wattle from foam.
- Glue the wattle, beak, and googly eyes to the head; let dry. Then glue the head to the center of the top circle.
